Our Caregivers

Exceptional Atlanta Caregivers – Home Care Is Our Calling

dementia caregivers in atlantaWhen choosing a caregiver for yourself or a loved one, we know that dependability and trust are of the utmost importance. At Regency, caring for others isn’t just our job, it’s our calling, and we pride ourselves on maintaining extremely high standards when it comes to hiring our Atlanta caregivers. We only hire professional, dedicated caregivers who love what they do.

What sets our Atlanta caregivers apart from the rest?

QUALITY

Your loved one deserves quality care, which is why all Regency employees are required to be Caregiver Quality Assurance Certified. To obtain this certification, each caregiver must successfully pass several tests to determine compassion, dependability and integrity. Applicants with tendencies toward abuse are eliminated. All employees must also pass a comprehensive state and national background check for criminal, drug and elder abuse and have a clear DMV record check. All caregivers must also pass a drug screening, a process that is not standard practice among all home health care agencies in Atlanta.

For your safety and security, all of our employees maintain verified current car insurance, are covered by workman’s compensation and are fully insured. Regency ensures that all of our clients are fully protected for your peace of mind!

TRAINING

Our caregivers are tested for their clinical knowledge, complete a thorough orientation program and have ongoing continuing education requirements to ensure their competency and to keep their caregiving knowledge polished and up to date. Our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are supervised by our Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure that the appropriate care is delivered and for ongoing quality control. All of our employees are experienced home care professionals, and every caregiver receives extensive training in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s care, infection control, and body mechanics.

Additionally, all of our CNAs are given the opportunity to attend a full training program to serve as proxy caregivers, which allows them to provide health maintenance services that are not offered by most in-home care agencies, such as medication oversight, blood sugar and vital signs monitoring, first aid, ostomy, catheter and tube feeding care, and more.

CERTIFICATION

In addition to their Caregiver Quality Assurance certifications, all of our caregivers are certified by the state of Georgia as nurses’ aides. This means they have completed a state accredited program for providing care as a CNA. They must pass a state competency exam as well as maintain ongoing continuing education to maintain their active status and provide home care in Atlanta. CPR certification is not required for in-home caregivers by the state of Georgia but it is for all Regency caregivers!

COMPASSION

All of the qualifications and background checks are vital, but they are only part of a Regency Home Care caregiver. It takes a special person to be a top-notch caregiver, and we believe our clients deserve only those caregivers who possess special qualities such as patience, understanding, respect, and good listening skills. We only employ caregivers that we would feel comfortable with in our own home and as part of our “family,” because we know that’s what you and your family deserve.

COMPATIBILITY

Having someone new in your or your loved one’s home is a big deal, and that person needs to be compatible with the care recipient in order to form a good relationship. During the initial client assessment, clients are matched with caregivers who would best suit their needs. We want every client to feel comfortable with his/her caregiver(s) and will always work promptly regarding any concerns so that satisfaction and quality care can be achieved. We guarantee compatibility!

OUR NURSES

Under the leadership of our VP of Client Relations, Donna Cash, RN, CLNC, our team of nurses provides ongoing assessments and direction to our caregivers, ensuring each client’s plan of care is followed and continually updated. Through both phone calls and home visits with the client and caregiver, our nurses ensure any issues are addressed promptly.
